Plantinga on defining Fundamentalists

What is a Fundamentalist?

Well, those who visit this blog will know that this is something I’ve often touched upon.

Recently, Cynthia Nielsen posted Alvin Plantinga’s amusing answer (HL: Ben Myer’s Faith and Theololgy).

I will be continuing, AT LAST, my posts on Küng’s Der Anfang Aller Dinge this weekend. To orientate yourself as to what I have already written, I list them here for convenience:

Introduction
Section A (A unified Theory for everything?): Part 1 and Part 2
Section B (God as the beginning?): Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 and Part 4
Section C (World creation or evolution?): Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3

I will use these next few posts to set me up for the proposal of a few propositions with regard the creation/intelligent design/evolution debate. Hopefully there will be something for everyone to disagree with.

But before I start that, here is a great creationist webpage, one that guarantees it’s products will be 100% safe from ...

*dum dum dum dum*
EVOLUTIONARY INFLUENCES.
*Woman scream, grown men faint in shock*

The cover text runs:

“The mission of Creation Sensation is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ, Creator and Savior, through the promotion of God-honoring products. It is our desire that our products are fun and educational, promoting parent/child interaction and spiritual training in the home. We desire to offer only products that are scientifically, historically, and Biblically accurate in every detail. Products have been scrutinized for evolutionary content and are sold as 100% evolution-free unless otherwise noted in the descriptions. It is our desire to serve our customers as we also serve our Savior.”

You can buy here, for example, a non-evolutionary book on dinosaurs! Just what I've always wanted! One of them was called Dinosaurs of Eden with this to say about itself:

“Dinosaurs of Eden follows two teenagers traveling through time discovering facts about dinosaurs in many eras. From their creation on Day 6, then in the Garden of Eden, many kinds of dinosaurs can be seen. Noah had to have taken them on the ark, Job describes them as fully alive later, and some may still be around today. On their journey, the teens also witness the fall of man, discover the need for a Savior, and travel into the future to see the judgment. Scripture and historical information are intertwined to present a factual account of history from the creation to the judgment by way of salvation through Jesus Christ.”

Happy shopping!
