Off to England
I'm writing these words from England (near Sutton, London) as I'm here to attend the London School of Theology NT conference (I must admit, I stupidly forgot all about the BNTC and its too late now) at which I shall be presenting two papers, one on the evening of the 6th and the other of the morning of the 7th. This means that I was up at 4 O’frigging clock this morning *aaaaarrrghhhh*, and that I'm also sleepily getting myself into a muddle with this English keyboard layout as I type.
I do miss Ol‘ Blighty. We are off tonight to buy copious amounts of Fish & Chips - you know, the sort of chips that are wedged together in a greasy mass of pulp, covered in salt and vinegar. Utter mouth-watering gloriosity! In truth, thin flimsy 'fries' are like cat-wee next to English-chip wine.
*looks guiltily at size of tummy*
*remembers ‘what the hell’ mantra. Grabs the car key’s*
This means that my blogging will probably slow down a little for the next week but I will be online posting every now and then and certainly keeping up to date with those on my blogroll.
Oh, and if anyone is in the area for the conference, do drop by!

Glad you've made it to London. Give my greetings to everyone at the LST NT Conference!
Thanks and all the best,
Volker
Fish and chips. Fantastic. It was one of the greatest pleasures of being back in England this summer. That and a decent cup of tea, and black pudding, and a cream tea. Hey -- how did I manage not to put any weight on?
Get some curry sauce, though, to go with those chips, and then it will be perfect.
Wish I were there mate.
I made it across the pond a few years back, teaching an IT course in London. Went out pubbing with a couple of students from Nottingham, they switched to whiskey midway through the evening and I couldn't keep up so I went back to the hotel. They were cheery as ever in class the next day. What do they put in the water in Nottingham?
Nottingham water? Acid rain. Can't wait in 2 weeks, methinks I be drinking acid rain too.
Looking forward to seeing you mate. Jason.
Will do, Volker.
Greetings, Mark. Oddly enough, one of the things I most miss about England - yes, even living in Germany - are the sausages. Glorious Cumberland sausages.
Frank, pity you couldn't just pop over! Do you know Jason below? Fellow Vineyard pastor ...
Hi Steph. Two weeks and you are in Nottingham? I think it is beautiful there.
Jason, it was simply great seeing you the other day. All the best, mate.
Yes, I like the old inn in the cave and aesthetically the campus will be an inspiration ... but what on earth happened - they've deforested Sherwood Forest?!!
We haven't met ... yet. The only Vineyard folks I know in the UK are the Winmills who run our Discipleship school.
