Just a quickie

Not being too loaded on time tonight I'll keep this brief.

First, do check out the quality exegesis at Scotteriology on the important 'I say that you are Peter – a rock' logion. I think you'll find his insights shockingly convincing.

Second, can you guess the author of the following nugget? The first one to guess correctly wins a holiday in the Bahamas:

'[T]his historical event that was humanity's loud "No!" to Jesus of Nazareth was in fact God's louder "No!" to human sin; but through resurrection, God pronounced an exclamatory "Yes!" to everything that the historical Jesus had done through his death for sinners'

Who's that, Nick?

I was going to say Barth or Wright. It's Barthian so it could really be any of his parroting toadies....

Sounds so Barthian, it's got to be one of those who walks in the teacher's footsteps. Not Wright, though...

I'm a stranger round these parts but I'm guessing Bonhoeffer, sounds like something he'd say in Ethics....

Eberhard Jungel eat your heart out... It's like when someone takes Barth and makes him their very own (cf. Torrances and Calvin...) - thus Barth for Jungel is very much about the "Ah yes!" of the individual to God whereas I can't honestly recall Barth saying this too much... (? - cf Karly B-dawg, "Gottes Gnadenwahl" Theologische Existenz heute 47 (1936), p. 56) See what I did there? I didn't even Google it - chew on that Biblical Studies scholars - mens sana in corpora sana

Hi,
Jack Bauer is the lead star in 24. He might have said that while rescuing the pope from the terrorist abductors.
