Mohr Siebeck have published a volume of Richard Bauckham's collected essay with, if I remember rightly, one more volume to follow.
Richard Bauckham, The Jewish World around the New Testament: Collected Essays I (548 pages worth!). Here are some of the articles:
- The Rise of Apocalyptic
- The Delay of the Parousia
- The Son of Man: 'A Man in my Position' or 'Someone'?
- The Apocalypses in J. H. Charlesworth's Old Testament Pseudepigrapha
- Pseudo-Apostolic Letters
- The List of the Tribes of Israel in Revelation 7
- The "Parting of the Ways": What Happened and Why
- The Messianic Interpretation of Isaiah 10:34
- The Relevance of Extra-Canonical Jewish Texts to New Testament Study
- What if Paul had Travelled East rather than West?
- Covenant, Law and Salvation in the Jewish Apocalypses
- The Restoration of Israel in Luke-Acts
- Paul and Other Jews with Latin Names in the New Testament
- Tobit as a Parable for the Exiles of Northern Israel
- The Continuing Quest for the Origins of the Old Testament Pseudepigrapha
Boy oh boy do I want this book, especially as there are quite a few articles that I have not yet read. Some of them are well known, and I will never forget reading 'The Restoration of Israel in Luke-Acts' which helped a lot of mental cogs finally click into place.

oh yeah - this does look like a very desireable book!! Many very interesting articles to be sure.
It's all in bloody German!
Brian, this is surely a great collection of essays. Enjoy!
Anon, only the blurb on the page is German!
Chris
Amazon does not have it, is it published recently? I presume it is a fantastic book to have.
Boy oh boy YYYYY? Blaaa. Bunch of old and ancient Bauckham articles hijacked by Mohr Siebeck, the meanest published on the planet who charge a small fortune. I can just select the articles I want and collect them myself if I haven't read them. :-)
Hi Keyvan, yea, published recently
Steph, you have a point, of course.
I am the sort who really prefers book format over loose A4 leaf photocopies from a journal.
me too - but I'm also a cheapskate.
And in this case it's only Bauckham - hardly the best living biblical scholar on the planet! :-)
Steph, if ever I get the chance to write blurb on the back of one of your books, I'll mention that.
"Scholarship of the highest level. But she's a cheapskate"
Thanks - I like honesty:-) Mind you I hope the publisher doesn't take that or me too literally with the binding!
